Jensen VM9214 Parking Brake Bypass

Buddy of mine just picked up a Jensen VM9214 head unit for his vehicle. One of its features is that it plays DVD movies but it requires a pink wire to be run to the parking brake so that (by Federal Law) you can only watch movies while the vehicle is parked. Well, he asked if there was a way to bypass and after some research we found several other people had done it by accessing a hidden menu on the head unit. No one had confirmed that it works on his particular model so we tried it and I can report that it does work on this new version. To bypass the parking brake requirement:

1) Press the Setup button on the remote
2) Select Language on the touchscreen
3) On the Remote, press 543210 (one at a time, pausing to hear the beep after each)
4) On the screen, touch the Hammer and Screwdriver picture
5) Select Brake Override
6) Touch On
7) Press the Setup button on the remote to exit

Of course it’s illegal to drive the vehicle and watch anything on the screen, but it’s what he wanted.
